St.Johnstone FC - website design, database & content management system
We have been developing the "Saintees" website for growth over the past four seasons. In playing terms they will see out this season in the first division but all being well they will soon grace the fields in the SPL.
Although the the support of the club is relatively small, the actual online visitors varies between a staggering 40-50,000 visitors per month during the season. With such popularity there is a real need to keep the content "up to the minute" fresh.
Major events at the club both on and off the playing field need to be updated
the very minute they happen so as to keep ahead of the press and TV companies
but also to give exclusive news to their fans.
With such a flow of changing information there was a requirement for the inhouse staff to be able to update the content themselves. We developed a solution for them where non technical staff could update almost anything from the lottery results to the product database of their online shop.
Now in its fourth year online, the site has grown and many new features such as games, SMS, live match broadcasting and live player chats have been incorporated into the site.
The site is always developing and in mid to late 2002 we hope to be introducing a flash documentary detailing the history of the club from its humble beginnings in 1740.
