Corporate Identity (ID) Systems.

Many companies would have you believe that a company's Corporate identity system is a package consisting of a business card, complement slip and letterhead. Whilst this could 'loosely' be described as a corporate ID system, in reality, it is nothing more than a stationery pack with your company logo. Breeze Media provide real corporate ID systems.

So what is a real corporate ID system? A true corporate identity system is a collection of your products, signage, advertisements, company literature, communications or indeed any item that is capable of displaying your company's logo or house style. Your logo is placed strategically to identify your brands and products to potential customers. Typefaces are chosen which become your house style and form part of your identity. Coloured variations of your logo can be applied to specific products or services. All of these and more form your corporate identity. There's a lot more to a corporate identity than sticking your logo on your stationery.

I'm a small company so why would we need a Corporate Identity system?

Lets say for example, you were to remove the logo from a Nike t-shirt. Would it still be a Nike T-shirt or would it just be a plain t-shirt no matter how good the quality of the material? To a potential client who didn't know, it would just be a plain old t-shirt. This simple example should be a reminder that without an identity, a company and it's products are nothing - no matter how small the company.

A corporate ID system is something every company should have. Whether you're a large manufacturer or a small retailer your company must have it's logo stamped on all of its products and communications. You can sell the best pies in the land but if your packaging doesn't say who you are ( be it a house style or a logo) then no one will be able to recommend your products and the advertising of your goods and services will have failed.

Take any good restaurant you've eaten in for example. The signs above the door, the advertisements in the newspapers, the menus on the tables, the cups, plates, serviettes etc. They all display the restaurants logo and all display a house style that reflect the restaurant's identity. If you enjoy the meal then you subconsciously associate the identity with quality and a good experience and you are likely to recommend the restaurant to your friends and colleagues. This can be said of any business from a single trader to a large organization.
